Tom Hanks

Tom Hanks-2-1024x767Thomas Jeffrey Hanks (born July 9th 1956) is an American actor and filmmaker. He is famous for his dramatic and comedic roles. He is an American famous cultural icon. Thomas Jeffrey Hanks was the son of Janet Marylyn, a hospital worker, as well as Amos Mefford Hanks (an itinerant chef). His mother, who was initially known as "Fraga" was part of an ethnically Portuguese family. His father, however, was mainly English. Tom was born into a "fractured family". He did not have any experience in acting in college, and attributes his inability to get a role in a college production as the reason he started his career. He walked into the city, and tried to audition for a local theatre production, and was given an invitation by the director the play to Cleveland and then his acting career was born.
